About B.A.K. Balasooriya

Kamani is a new client to BMI from a village in Mawanella in the Kurunegalle District. She is involved in making clay bricks. She has been fairly successful and earns an income of LKR 42,500/- per month. However, this is labour intensive and Kamani finds it difficult to manage her home expenses and pay the wages with her present level of sales. She has applied for her first loan amounting to LKR 30,000/- from BMI for the purposed of purchasing the required raw materials for increasing production as well as paying wages. She feels this is a very competitive industry in her area and hopes with the financial aid that BMI can provide her, she will be able to offer something extra to the market.
