In the past 2 years she has become well known for her clothing and tailoring. At present she is fairly successful earning an income of around LKR20,000/- per month. Currently she is interested in diversifying her products and making availablea high quality product so as to sell at a higher premium price and increase her profit margins. She has now applied for her second loan of LKR 50,000/- from BMI to facilitate the purchase of a new sewing machine with more features. Her husband works in a farm and earns a minimum wage as such her business is the major income source for their family and covers most of the household expenses as well.
