Peeris is a tailor in the Kahatagasdigiliya region in the North Central Province in Sri Lanka.
For over seven years she has been working as a tailor in her local village producing clothes that are sold on the local market. She earns in excess of Rs. 70,000/- a month, but most of her profit is reinvested in new material.
Through the assistance of a BMI loan in 2012, at the value of Rs. 25,000/-, she was able to start up her business venture. She now hopes to be approved for a new loan for the value of Rs. 50,000/- that will allow her to purchase new machinery and material that will improve her business further.
