About Swenitha Malkanthi

Swenitha Malani lives alone with her mother and son who is driver by profession. Being 56 years of age and no other income facilities other than her son’s income, she started a small grocery shop adjoining her house in Galigamuwa. She got her first BMI business loan of Rs. 25,000 in August 2010 which she invested in her shop and worked hard to make it a success. Her hard work paid good dividends with steady customers and at present she earns a monthly average income of Rs. 25,000. Malani is hoping to apply for her second BMI business loan of Rs. 50,000 in this month. She wants to buy and introduce new items to her shop and expand her business activity. She knows she can repay this loan in a year’s time and earn more income in coming future.
