43 Years old Malani Kumarihami of Galigamuwa is married to Jayasekera and the couple has 2 kids by marriage. As her husband engaged in cultivation and son works in a hotel while her daughter studying in school, Malani had a lot of free time at home. She started buying and selling clothes to supplement the family income.
She used her first BMI business loan of Rs. 25,000 to invest in her business in December 2010 and increased her sales. At present she has a steady customer base visiting her house to buy readymade clothes. Her monthly approximate income stands at Rs. 20,000.
Malani has applied for her second BMI loan of Rs. 50,000. She needs this amount to invest in her trade to further expand her business. She also hopes to provide employment opportunities to village girls and continue this as an expanded textile trade in Galigamuwa.
