Sirisena is a resident of Kagama area in Anuradhapura district. He and his wife have one daughter and a son. Their son is employed in a private company. Sirisena’s main livelihood activity is papaya cultivation. He has been doing this for 5 years and slowly developed it in to a successful venture. His current average monthly income is around LKR 15,000.
Now that the Papaya fruits have a good market, he seeks to invest more in the business and expand it. He has now approached BMI for financial assistance in expanding his business with a loan of LKR 30,000. He hopes to use this capital to purchase inputs like fertilizer and quality seedlings for the cultivation.
He is a hardworking farmer and eager to develop his papaya cultivation and trading business. He hopes to save some money for their daughter’s future affairs as well. His final ambition is to be a successful fruit merchant in the village.
