Seetha lives in Kobbewala area with her husband and two children. They own a small grinding mill where they process paddy and turmeric. They produce rice and turmeric powder and sell them in bulk to local merchants.
With the support of her husband, Seetha’s business got developed and she started to have steady village customers. At the same time, she became a cluster member of BMI in 2010and went for her first BMI business loan of Rs. 25,000. She used this amount to further develop her business. She took her second BMI loan of Rs. 50,000 and bought enough quantity of paddy and packed into 5 KG packs and sold it in retail. She also increased the production amount of turmeric powder as well.
These developments made Seetha to earn a monthly income of Rs. 20,000 which greatly helped her to support family expenses. Seetha has applied for her third BMI loan of Rs. 75,000 and waits for approval. She hopes to use this amount to expand her business activities and increase her income generation in coming months. She has high intentions to develop the business well to increase her income level.
