Shashika Shyamalee Dissanayaka’s husband Lalantha is a farmer by profession in Ipalogama. They have one son who is still schooling. Shashika and her husband is now engaged in cultivating banana, which they had started five years ago. Their average monthly income is around LKR 45,000. She was facing financial difficulties to purchase quality seedlings and land improvement. So that she joined BMI cluster recently. Now Shashika is expecting her first loan of LKR 30,000 from BMI. She hopes to use the loan money to re-cultivate banana in the 2 .5 acre land belongs to her. She and her husband are very confident in their venture and hope that they can earn a good income if they maintain a good cultivation. Shashika also enjoys farming and very proud to help her husband in their household economy. She wishes to earn a high income and save some money for the future of their small kid.

Shasika is a Farmer who does Banana cultivation. She is a very proud to be a BMI member since her venture was started from the BMI loan. She took a loan of Rs. 30,000 from BMI to start this cultivation. Shasika is living in village called Ipalogama. The environment where Shasika is salubrious for Banana and started giving her a good harvest. She did not fail to grab the services and guidance for BMI too in developing this business via Enterprise development services (EDS). Shasika feels obliged to BMI for lending hand to her when she had no other means of finance to start this business. Also the trainings given by EDS were a valuable guidance. It is a good progress which gained through her hard work during this time. She plans to enhance her cultivation, find new markets and develop the business more.
