About P.N. Kumari

Kumari is a BMI client since 2010. She has taken her first loan of LKR 2500 form BMI to invest in the timber mill she owns. She had used the money to purchase the required timber stock for her business at that time. Currently she runs a very successful business and she is hoping to develop her business further. Her husband had started this business around 15 years ago but then he went abroad for a foreign employment. The business was left to Kumari and she took the challenge of developing their business. In 2011 she had taken another loan of LKR 50,000 from BMI to invest in the business. She used the loan money to purchase a bigger timber stock for the business. Now she has applied for her third loan of LKR 75,000 to pay advance for another timber stock since the demand has accelerated over the time. Kumari has one son who is still schooling and she also takes care of her elderly mother. She is an active member of the Women’s society in her area. She is a very courageous lady and working hard to achieve success through her business. She is hoping to establish a sustainable business so that when her husband comes back, they will have a good income source. Her ultimate wish is to give a good education to her son and create a good future for him.
