Her husband is a blacksmith a in profession who has more than 20 years of experience. They have a small domestic level smiths shop. In addition Anura’s husband also engages in the farming as well. Anura joined BMI in 2011 November and obtained her first loan of LKR 25,000. She took it for her husband’s smiths business. They used the money to purchase the raw materials required to make the iron products such as knives, mammoties and sickles. They are now seeking to expand the business by increasing the production. To finance this, Anura is taking her second loan of LKR 50,000 from BMI now. They are hoping to use the money to purchase a bigger raw material stock in bulk. Anura and her husband are diligent and eager to work to earn a better income for their family. They are hoping to develop their business and sell their products to other areas as well. Their biggest hope is their small kids and they wish to create a secure future for them as well.
