Jayatissa is a BMI client from the rural village called Kelediwiulwewa in Anuradhapura District. He is a dairy farmer and he joined BMI in 2011 November. He took a LKR 25,000 loan to part finance purchasing a dairy cow. His business is selling milk obtained to the village collection center. His average monthly income from the business is around LKR 32,000.
He had been engaged in this business for three years and well versed in the dairy cow management now. His business also shows good prospects and thus now he is planning to buy another cow for his herd to increase the production. Therefore, now Jayatissa is taking his second loan of LKR 50,000 from BMI to finance that.
Jayatissa is married and has two children. His wife is doing farming as a part time engagement. Their main income source however, is dairy farming. Thus, Jayatissa is working hard to develop a good business to earn a higher income. He wishes to own a good dairy herd and a sustainable farm to attain that wish. The ultimate hope of Jayatissa and his wife is to give a good education to their children.
