Monaya is a young lady from Hakahinna area in Kegalle district. She is engaged in a small woolen garment manufacturing business, owned by her father. She has newly joined BMI and now expecting her first loan of LKR 30,000. She plans to use the money to buy raw materials for the woolen garment production. At present, the income from the business is around 30,000 per month.
Monaya is the only child in her family and lives with her parents. According to her, she has always wanted to involve in her father’s business and help him develop it. She hopes that BMI loan will help them overcome al least part of the financial burdens of their business.
Monaya has lot of hopes on their business. She hopes that they will be able to increase the production and establish sound market linkages to distribute their produce. Her ambition is to earn a good reputation in woolen small industry and be a successful business woman in the area.
