Chandrawathi is a ambitious small entrepreneur from Hakahinna area in Kegalle district. She and her husband are engaged in retail business. She first joined BMI in 2011 February by obtaining a loan of LKR 25,000. She used the loan money to purchase selling items for their retail shop.
She has nearly nine years of experience in retail business. Apart from retail business she also makes and sells food items like rice and curry, hoppers, string hoppers as well in her shop. Their monthly income from the business is around LKR 25,000.
Since their business has good future prospects, Chandrawathi is now planning to expand her business. Thus, she is now taking her second loan of LKR 50,000 from BMI to finance it. She plans to use the loan money to purchase selling items and other dry food items for her business.
Chandrawathi is a good social worker in the village as well. She holds the member ship in death benevolence society and temple society of her village. Chandrawathi and her husband have two daughters and one son. Their elder daughter is employed and the other two are still schooling. Chandrawathi and her husband are hard workers. They are putting a lot of effort to make the business a success. They wish to gradually develop the business and earn a good income for their children’s future.
