Nuwanthi is a young entrepreneur who has recently joined BMI. She is applying for her first loan of LKR 30,000 to finance her poultry business. She has started her small poultry farm six months ago to earn an income to support her husband in household expenses. Nuwanthi plans to use the loan money to obtain required poultry food and other housing requirements for the birds. She intends to sell the eggs collected from the farm to local shops.
She lives in a remote village called Kaluthambi hena in Anuradhapura district. She has a baby daughter and her husband is a Office Assistant in Ceylon Fort Authority. She is very enthusiastic about her business and hopes to develop it to a successful domestic level small industry.
