Niluka newly joined BMI (November 2012) and this is her first loan for LKR 30,000. Niluka is a mother of one son and they are living in a village called Damunupola. Her husband has worked as a three wheeler driver for about four years before they purchased their own three wheeler and started the minor export crop business along with renting the vehicle.
The loan is being used to repair their three wheeler which is available for hire. Apart from renting the three wheeler, they have a minor export crops business. This three wheeler is also used to transport minor export crops (pepper, cloves and coffee) that they purchase, process and resell. Her family income at present is around LKR 30,000.
Niluka and her husband now plan to develop the spices business further and buy a small lorry to expand their business coverage and sales volumes. All their efforts are centered on their child for whom they both want to create a better future.
