NIshani is young girl who is engaged in rubber planting material business and she has joined with BMI in 2011 January with a loan amount of Rs. 25,000. Her business involves maintaining a rubber nursery and she had used the loan to purchase good planting material from an external source. She maintains a nursery of those purchased plants and sells them in the village. She had obtained the technical knowledge for this through a training session on rubber nursery management. At present Nishani earns around LKR 20,000 from this business. This is her second loan from BMI and intends to use it for nursery maintenance and planting material purchasing. Her average monthly income is around LKR 20,000.
Nishani lives with her mother and father and has no siblings. Her father works as a clerk. Nishani's mother supports her to take care of the nursery and its management. She is also active in social works and currently a member in the Death Benevolence Society in the village. Nishani is an enthusiastic and courageous girl who wishes to make the business sustainable and support her family to uplift their living condition.
