Pathmini with her family lives in a rural village in Kegalle district. She has two children, a son and a daughter who are schooling. Her husband works as a latex tapper in a rubber estate while engaged in three wheeler hiring as well. Pathmini’s mother also lives with them.
Pathmini just joined BMI and her current loan is LKR 30,00, which is being used to repair the three wheeler hired by her husband. The loan was used to repair the roof of the three wheeler which was their income source for over two years, as latex tapping income is marginal and mainly seasonal.
In future, Pathmini intends to support her husband in his income generation work to improve the family’s living condition and her ultimate wish is to give a good education to her children
