The son is studying for the advanced level exams, and the income from daily wages is inadequate for household needs. Metilda started selling plastic household items about 2 years back. This was started with LKR 25,000 loan. The loan was repaid back recently and she advanced to the next loan cycle amounting to LKR 50,000. The loan will be utilized to purchase plastic items for selling. However, Matilda hopes to expand the business and start selling household electric items as well.

This is her second BMI business loan taken within two years. - She used this amount to buy variety of products for her retail business selling plastic and electrical items. With the number of new clients growing in her business, she has been able to to introduce attractive products and household items that attract the customers. So indeed, a loan from BMI has been a timely investment for her.
