About P.R.U.M. Damayanthi

Maala runs a small grocery shop in Manupa in Anuradhapura district. Her shop is 7 years old. She lives with her husband and two sons. Husband is a laborer and he too helps his wife’s business from time to time. She and her husband want to give their children a good education. Maala became a new BMI member in 2012 and she got her first financial assistance in the same year. The loan amount she received is Rs. 30,000. She spent her loan amount to purchase groceries. Because she used the loan amount efficiently, her monthly income raised up to Rs. 45,000. Now, Maala plans to increase the variety of goods, and expand her shop. So, she applied for another loan amount of Rs. 50,000 to buy other varieties of goods.
