Chandrika lives in a village called Manupa in Anuradhapura district. Chandrika is engaged in a school bags stitching business. She has been engaged in this business for around two years. She joined with BMI in the year 2012. Chandrika stated her business with a BMI loan. She received a Rs. 30,000 loan from BMI. She bought a new sewing machine from that amount. So, the business became more productive.
Her monthly income is Rs. 39,000. She has two sons and a daughter. Sons are schooling and daughter is still an infant. Chandrika’s husband is a Military officer. Now she has applied for a new loan amount of Rs. 30,000. She planned to use the loan to purchase new fabric.
