Madhuka runs a grocery shop in Kothmale in Nuwara-Eliya district. Her shop is 02 years old and it is located in a hillside area. She lives with her husband and children in that small village. Husband is a laborer and he uses to help her wife’s business from time to time.
Madhuka has two schooling sons. Her husband is Driver. She and her husband are very keen to provide a good education for their school children.
Madhuka became a new BMI member in 2012 and she got her first financial assistance in the same year. The loan amount she received is Rs. 30,000. She spent her loan amount to purchase groceries, because oshe used the loan amount efficiently, her monthly income went up to Rs. 18,000.
Madhuka sells also sells homemade food items in her shop. Now, Madhuka plans increase the variety of goods, and enlarge her store. So, she applied for another loan amount of Rs. 50,000 to buy more goods and increase the varieties of homemade food in her store.
